Holiday Season Support

IST Gives Back Passion Project

Chicago Team: Seasonal Community Support.

It is the season of giving and IST Management’s Chicago team is sponsoring an opportunity to serve the metropolitan community! The Chicago area sites came together to choose between a food, toy, or coat drive but decided- why not all three! 2020 has been a difficult year for us all but it is in times like these when kindness is needed more than ever. The Chicago IST family invites you to help in supporting one or all of these worthy causes. December 1st through 15th, Steve, Gregg, and Jeremy will schedule visits to each account to collect donations and deliver to the appropriate organization. Information for each serving opportunity is as follows.

  • What - IST teams across the Chicago area will have the opportunity to help others this winter and holiday season. We will be gathering items at each of our accounts for donation to the three charities listed below.
  • When - We will be taking donations starting today through Tuesday, 12/15
  • Where - Metro Chicago area sites
  • How - Discuss with your teams and identify if there is a site preferred organization and cause to support. Identify items for donation and collect at your office. Individuals can choose to bring in items and or the site team can collaborate on items. No amount of donation is too small. Please feel free to support these causes based upon site preference. This is entirely voluntary; you and your team can choose to support all three, one or none. Information for each serving opportunity is included below. Steve, Gregg, and Jeremy will schedule visits to each account to collect donations and deliver to the appropriate organization.
  • Why - The reason we give will be different for all of us and 2020 has been an incredibly difficult year for many people.

MISSION: Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

The mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is to assist the U. S. Marine Corps in providing a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas. This assistance includes providing day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Program, raising funds to provide toys to supplement the collections of local Toys for Tots Campaigns, to provide promotional and support material and defray the costs of conducting annual Toys for Tots Campaigns. Other Foundation support includes providing administrative, advisory, financial, logistic and promotional support to local Toys for Tots Coordinators; managing funds raised and monies donated based on the use of Toys for Tots name or logo; providing other support the Marine Corps, as a federal agency, cannot provide; and conducting public education and information programs about Toys for Tots that call the general public to action in support of this patriotic community action program.

Things to know.

  • Most campaign sites are able to assist children up to age 12.
  • Toys for Tots does not publish a list of appropriate toys to donate. If such a list were created, most would follow it, resulting in a limited selection of items to distribute in each community. We would rather our donors consider what might be an appropriate gift for their own child/relative, purchase the item, and donate to Toys for Tots.
  • Toys for Tots prefers not to accept realistic looking weapons and gifts with food. If donated, such items will NOT be distributed.

MISSION: Coat Drive for families in need.

The Salvation Army, Chicago Bears, and Jewel Osco are teaming up to provide coats for families in need. The coats will benefit The Salvation Army, which is working diligently this holiday season to Rescue Christmas for our neighbors in need. “With unprecedented levels of need due to COVID-19, the availability of warm coats this year will help these families avoid having to choose between a winter coat or a food bill,” said Lt. Colonel Lonneal Richardson, The Salvation Army Divisional Commander.

MISSION: Virtual food drive.

You can help bring food, dignity and hope to our neighbors across Chicago and Cook County. Every donation to our virtual food drive provides nourishing food for our neighbors at risk of hunger. Thanks to the Food Depository’s buying power, every $1 can help provide 3 meals. Your support makes an immediate impact to take hunger off the table!
