Introducing IST's Community Outreach Program

Over 2,300 years ago, the Greek philosopher Aristotle said “What is the essence of Life? To serve others and to do good.” At IST, our servant’s heart approach to running the business totally embraces a “service to others” culture and doing some good in this world.

Volunteering one’s time and talent is one example of doing some good. One of the volunteer organizations we help support is MUST Ministries. MUST Ministries was founded 47 years ago by the Rev. Wayne Williams to help care for those in need with groceries, job training, housing options, meals, and more. Today they have over 10,000 volunteers. On any given night, 300 people are sleeping in a MUST bed. Dr. Dwight “Ike” Reighard, is the current President and CEO of MUST Ministries. Ike is also IST’s Chief Ethics Officer and has been a personal friend of mine for many years.

One of our recent initiatives with MUST Ministries was funding the Family Resource Center in their new building being built in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia for the unhoused. Groundbreaking is planned for September 2021. Just think about this… this new building will house kids that are unhoused with their moms. The kids did not choose this. Our goal is to help them get a fair shot at life. With this organization, we will have opportunities to volunteer our time, talents and money.
