Case Study - Goizueta Business School

IST has had a long term partnership with Goizueta fostered by growth and flexibility. Beginning with a complete overhaul of the procedures and focus on service, IST was able to quickly carve out an organized workflow of delivery and tracking of mail that not only delighted end-users but provided huge cost savings to Goizueta.

Introduction

For more than 100 years, Goizueta Business School (GBS) has been a training ground for principled leaders and a laboratory for powerful insights. Named after the late Coca-Cola CEO Roberto C. Goizueta, it bases its principles and values on its namesake’s legacy, whose story of success involved courage, integrity and accountability and other qualities outlined in the school’s core values. The Atlanta-based business school offers a full-time MBA program, as well as a one-year accelerated MBA program for students focused on returning to the workforce quickly.

The Concern

Established in 1919 with 1 professor and 6 undergraduates Goizueta grew rapidly and by 1999 enrollment exceeded 5,000 undergraduates, over 100 faculty and 65 staff members. At that time all mail and copy production tasks were done in-house by two employees. Needless to say the job was too big. Without formalized management processes in place, the current staff could not adapt the services to the school’s growing needs.

The Solution

That same year (1999) IST began its partnership with Goizueta Business School and immediately installed cutting-edge IST-Suite technology in the mail room and established an organized, dedicated mail and copy center.



  • IST’s technology and processes provided accountability for incoming packages, which meant no more lost packages
  • IST now services all internal mail, interoffice mail, incoming outgoing mail, and mail/package deliveries
  • IST’s solution has grown to also include a walk-up window for GBS staff to purchase shipping and stamps
  • Using our manufacturing partnerships IST secured competitive pricing for fleet copiers
  • Brought copy and creation of transparencies, along with course packets, in-house, which presented immediate cost savings, while giving GBS end-users the flexibility to make last-minute changes to their materials 
  • Now IST manages the decentralized fleet and a fully centralized copy center


The Partnership

The partnership between IST and Goizueta Business School is very strong and at the core of that partnership is communication between our two organizations. We have an open forum where GBS and IST can comfortably and effectively combine our strengths to provide the best possible service support program for GBS end-users.


IST has brought a combination of management processes, technology and personal attention to GBS, which is in turn allowed us to add print production systems and bring their entire fleet of copiers under the IST contract.



As one of IST’s oldest customers, GBS is a perfect example of our obsession with customer service and why we believe that great service and great people are what build a long-term partnership.
