Building Stronger Infrastructures

Building Stronger Infrastructures

Sometimes things have to get worse before they get better. I’m reminded of a quote by the Japanese writer, Haruki Murakami, who said: “And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure whether the storm is over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in.”

Like many companies, IST has faced its share of storms this year, but it's remarkable how, after each storm, we emerged in a much better position than before. Our business, and our people, have changed from the previous year. By a wide margin, this year has seen us grow stronger, more stable, and better able to manage any challenges that may come our way.

Expanding and Growing

As part of our efforts to transform IST's technology infrastructure, we have hired talented IT personnel. Jordan McQuown is our new Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security officer. He has 19 years of experience, a strong background in eDiscovery platforms for AMLAW 100 firms, and multiple IT-related certifications. Ted Korba, a leader in eDiscovery architecture, joined IST as our Senior Director of IT Infrastructure. We also hired two highly qualified IT Systems Engineers, Alex Kohl, and Wendell Frazier. Combining this talent with Andrew Addison and our other exemplary IT team makes us quite invincible!

Nine years ago, we broke into the world of e-Discovery. We expanded that division to include forensics/collections, court reporting, and managed review services. These bold and deliberate moves will help IST become a major player in the projected $26.63 billion e-Discovery global market by 2030. In this industry, having the right technology, people, and systems to ensure the integrity of our web-based, proprietary software is critical. We are well-positioned to meet that challenge.

Overall, we have bettered our hand with both an infrastructure tech stack and leadership team that is by far the best we ever had in twenty-five years! As Ike Reighard, President & CEO of MUST Ministries, once said, “When bad things happen, you can choose to get bitter or better.” I can tell you we are so much better today that it is unbelievable. Thank you for all that you do.

Service That Stands Out with IST Management
By Hal Blackman 27 Feb, 2024
Each February, in celebration of Valentine's Day, I like to reflect on our customer service, which focuses on IST's mission to build lasting partnerships. Our industry often defines us by metrics, KPIs, and deliverables. While these are essential to our success, they are merely the framework. The soul, the essence, lies in how we serve – with heart.
